Minimalist, intense, alive.
This Gewurztraminer is following the current humble trend of orange wines - those made with minimal intervention. It's been put through a natural fermentation and has extended skin contact, which acts as a natural preservative (and colour enhancer).
The colour is peachy-copper and the nose offers apricot jelly, orange creamsicle, figs and desiccated roses, vanilla and star anise with a decent dose of honey. Phenolic textural palate is certainly aided by the additional skin contact, it is juicy and very intense but has a levity and thriving evolving palate. It tastes alive as opposed to many wines of this ilk.
Worth seeking.
