Savoury, classic, elegant.
From 27-year-old vines grown the lower slopes of CedarCreek's Home Block Vineyard I've found the Block 2 to be the more savoury of the two (between the Block 2 and Block 4) is more savoury. Expect wild berries and red plums muddled with tealeaf and brown spices, leather and rainforest floor. Sweet red fruit launches the palate and is followed by flavours of beet greens, tobacco and fine spice. Elegant but still youthful, fresh and succulent; it will benefit from time to meld the palate and smooth out the tannins.
