Succulent, earthy, fresh.
The Riserva tier is the second highest level of Chianti Classico wines after Gran Selezione. This one, from Ricasoli has distinctive succulence on the nose. Smoked meat and chocolate, a mix of small red and black berries, vanilla, roses, cedar and pipe tobacco aromas dominate. The palate is more restrained; the tannins have more chew, there's an earthiness and a mash-up of tangy red fruit, tobacco, cedar and cocoa flavours.
