Juicy, charming, fragrant.
Located in Serralunga d'Alba, Giovanni Rosso is a small family owned winery, producing red wines of Nebbiolo (and a small portion of Barbera) since the 1980s. Giovanni's son Davide now makes the wines and has a off-shoot project in Etna, in Sicily.
Expect a nose of strawberry licorice and maraschino cherries, chopped cedar, roses, vanilla and pipe tobacco. The palate is an echo of the nose with sweet juicy red fruit, spice, leather and tobacco flavours. It's a charming wine, delightful and fresh with fine, chalky tannins.
