Veneto's Masi brings its trade to Argentina, to the high Mendoza vineyards of Tupungato in the Uco Valley. Here, they make this blend of Corvina (classic Italian variety) and Malbec in the appasimento method of drying grapes to add depth and richness to the final wine.
It's a consistently enticing wine with a nose of dried cherries, coffee, prune plums, dark chocolate and savoury undertones of spice, smoked meat and dried herbs. There is vibrancy on the palate, which belies its savoury dark aromas - expect juicy black cherry and spice flavours, excellent balance and drying tannins on the finish.
Pair with roasted meats, strong flavoured and mature cheeses or mushroom stuffed ravioli.
