From Lawrence and Sharon Herder's estate Similkameen vineyards, this Pinot Noir is grown on a southern slope of well-drained, shale and gravelly sandy loam soils. Only 68 cases were produced.
This Pinot is on the fuller bodied spectrum of Pinot Noir offers plush black cherry, raspberry and sweet vanilla with crushed lilacs and exotic spice - notably star anise. The palate is wonderfully juicy and fresh; it has very good structure, a silky texture and supple weight. Spice lingers on the finish.
A good pairing for Allspice duck or hearty mushroom Wellington.
