These new Villa Matilde wines from Campania are a welcome addition to the Italian category.
The Aglianico leaps out of your glass with sun ripened cherries, which are supported with saddle leather, cigar, dark cocoa, and savoury, spicy and earthy undertones. It is a supple red with a rustic and earthy palate. It has the firm Aglianico structure you expect with flavours of juicy cherries, roasted mocha, leather and spice. Nice balance and a medium-length finish.
Pair with roast lamb, eggplant parmigiana, spicy red sauces or hard Italian cheeses.

Rich Meats , Cheese - Hard/Aged, Italian Food, Tomatoes and Tomato Sauces
