Historic, fresh, supple.
The satin look and feel bottle from Montresor stands out in a crowd. It is an historic estate, established in 1892 by a branch of the Montresor family from Orleans France--one Giacomo Montresor. A painter at heart Giacomo designed the famous bottle in 1904--combining the look of a flask and bottle. His goal, to have wine withstand long journey's at sea to America and for fifteen years he worked on sanitation and then in 1921 he developed the frosted bottle.
The wine is scented with dried cherries and prune, orange peel and cocoa nibs, balsamic, leather and tobacco. It has a fresh entry, it's supple and juicy rather than opulent with toasted spice, oak, leather with hints of dried fruits.
