The premium Quails' Gate Pinot Noir comes from 10-25 year old vines and never fails to impress.
The 2009 vintage expresses red cherries and bright red berries, earthy sweet beets and beet greens, tealeaf, sweet spice and a core of forest floor and cedar. It's on the fuller spectrum of medium bodied, shows impressive structure and mouthwatering acidity to balance. The red fruit is juicy and is grounded by oak spice, white pepper, dried herbs and earth - the finish is long and smooth.
Pair with roasted beet risotto or richer dishes such as lamb or perhaps duck.
Drink now or cellar for another 5 years.
