Bright, berries, charming.
This cultural proprietary blend of Gamay, Pinot noir, Dolcetto and Merlot comes from vineyards in the sub-GI of Okanagan Falls (designated in 2018) where Stag's Hollow is located, and from Keremeos in the Similkameen Valley.
Stag's Hollow describes this as a bistro wine and I wholeheartedly agree; it is refreshing, food friendly and charming.
High-toned summer berries, vanilla soaked cherries, coffee, cardamom, cinnamon and celery salt aromas lead to a juicy yet savoury palate. That juicy berry/salted character comes through on the palate. It has good bones and wonderful acidity; the finish trails cocoa and star anise.
Pair: white meats, oily fish, hearty salads, vegetable tarts and cheeses.
