Orvieto is a commune, and this particular Orvieto white contains the rarely heard of Italian grape varieties: Procanico, Grechetto, Verdelho, Drupeggio and Malvasia. This wine has a unique profile, Amabile as it is called, is a classic name referring to "semi-sweet" style.
Aromas of mown grass and herbal hints with plenty of floral notes, stone fruit, wild honey and talc. The sweet musky aromas come through on the palate - apricots and white raisins, sweet citrus and honey. Light in body, it is a sweet wine that lingers on the palate.
I would pair this wine with after dinner cheese plate and dried fruit and nuts.
