Paira translates to straw which refers to the straw thatched stone houses where vineyard workers would take shelter at the end of the work day.
The wine is a blend of Puglia's traditional Negroamaro with Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a pleasing everyday dinner red that offers aromas of cherries, sunwarmed berries, chocolate and vague floral notes. Smooth and apporachable, the sweet dark fruit reappears on the palate trailing, spiced cocoa and tobacco flavours.
