From Black Hills Estate Winery on the Black Sage Bench comes ths second label - reported to be the result of the winemaker's assistants (aka cellar hands). The red is a blend of 45 % Syrah, 28% Merlot and 27% Cabernet Sauvignon.
It's an approachable red that is quite peppery; expect a mix of black and red berry aromas, licorice bark, vanilla, leather and wild herbs. The palate is supple and spicy; mixed briary berries are layered with cocoa and roasted coffee bean flavours. Good balance here - a wine to pair with grilled foods.
