Spicy, macho, supple.
TintoNegro was born of the long time friendship and professional collaboration of Alejandro Sejanovich and Jeff Mausbach. The two were colleagues at Bodega Catena Zapata for almost 15 years; Alejandro was Vineyard Director and Jeff was the Wine Education Director.
This wine was aged six months in French oak (5% new).
It is spicy and meaty with layered of dried violets and rose petals, blackberry jam and roasted plums. Spicy and macho with and extracted character; roasted coffee grounds, pepper, leather and bittersweet chocolate flavours dominate. The notable acidity and supple weight keep it from being overly brooding and cumbrous.
