Classic, texture, aromatic.
At 170 years old, Yalumba is the oldest family owned winery in Australia, home to one of the largest viticulture nurseries and the only winery cooperage in the country.
Yalumba was also the first to commercially plant Viognier in the Barossa Valley in 1980 and for many wine lovers, this wine was their first taste of the Viognier variety.
It's a popular wine and an even more appealing price now and it suggests peach marmalade, ginger biscuits and loads of exotic spice and lime. Good freshness here with plenty of phenolic texture to add weight and freshness. It trails mineral, lime, spice and herbal flavours.
A delicious partner to spicy fish tacos or exotic Moroccan dishes.
Second Review: February 2021Peach marmalade and lemon meringue, toasted spice, fresh ginger and honey aromas roll onto a palate that is luscious. Quince, spice and stone fruit flavours abound. It is weighty and slick with a long fresh finish.
