The Second Annual Judgment of BC
Jun 22, 2016
judgement of BC 2016 second annual, Riesling, Pinot Noir
Last year, in the presence of one of Britain's most esteemed wine personalities, Steven Spurrier, Wines of British Columbia hosted the Judgment of BC, in Vancouver, on August 24, 2015.

It was a tasting, which paid homage to the 1976 version, pitting California wines against the great wines of France. It was a turning point for California, and simultaneously outraged the French.

Following up, on June 21, 2016, the second annual Judgment of BC took place in Summerland, in the Okanagan Valley.
Once again, it was strongly curated by Vancouver wine educator and speaker, D.J. Kearny.

29 Canadian judges, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, as well as two international wine critics, came together to blind taste two flights.

First, six Pinot Noirs from British Columbia, and six from around the world were tasted and ranked, individually.
The second flight was comprised of six Rieslings from British Columbia, and six from the rest of the world, which were similarly tasted and ranked.

Below are the results (number one ranking highest) in order of judges consensus.

In brackets, is where I placed each wine.
