Peller Estate Private Reserve Merlot, Okanagan BC 2004- Smoked plummy aromas with dark earth, smoke and leathery hints. In the mouth you have reserved fruit flavours chewy tobacco, coffee and dark chocolate. A Merlot meant for dinner.

Van Westen Vino Grigio, Naramata BC, 2005-Van Westen is making serious wine. Traditional food friendly wines like this very Italian style Pinot Gris/Grigio. I try, whenever possible to taste wines with and without food (obviously not always possible or I'd never stop eating) but with a bit of spicy Indian food the other evening the wine was dancing. Crisp Grigio style with aromas of fresh minerals, smoke, lemon cream, spiced apples and apricots, softly rounded mouth-feel and a clean, smooth finish.

Nk'Mip Pinot Noir, Okanagan BC, 2005- Fortunately the price is still reasonable, unfortunately this wine is hard to get, no longer as widely available so you may have to try it at your favorite restaurant. The Nk'Mip is spiced and peppery with bright red fruit, herbs, tobacco and leather. In the mouth its smooth and velvety with apparent tannins and a long spiced finish.

See Ya Later Ranch "Ping" Okanagan BC, 2004-This hard to find BC favorite is ripe with juicy red berries, plums and cherry. Fresh earth,  chocolate, leather follow with sweet tobacco, spices and just a slight vegetal hint. A lovely blend of Merlot (66%), Cabernet Franc(22%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (12%) not too jammy and not too austere.
Like Goldilocks said "It's just right".
