How Cheesy

Le Brin, Savoie France-Cow's milk cheese.
Amber hued, washed rind hexagonal shaped cheese with a gamy/wild
aroma and hints of sweet nuttiness. Soft,
creamy and supple this semi-soft cheese has a creamy, milky and slightly fruity
flavour.
It would be nice as a dessert cheese served with fruit.
Wine: Light-med fruity reds, medium bodied fruity whites.
Stink Factor: low
$ 7.00 (approx) puck sized individually wrapped

Tofu and Cocktails in NYC
I would say, only in New
York but I suspect that with Vancouver's Japanese culture and restaurant
scene such a place like
Kyotofu
would be a nice addition.
Opened in November,
Kyotofu is a Japanese
dessert bar and cocktail lounge. The desserts are (as one would suspect)
made with tofu.
These colorful and exotic creations are served in tandem with a mod-exotic
cocktail list, impressive sake list and sparkling/wine list.
The attached "tofu" bakery is perfect for those on the go.
And the dessert bar has a lunch menu with options like Soymilk Quiche, Tofu
Salad, Tofu Chicken Tsukune Meatball, Selection of Cheeses, Mini Miso
Choko Cake or Okara Muffin or Cupcake.
For late-night party goers there are handful of late night "salty"
and "sweet" snacks to nibble while you sip-like Black
Edamame, Japanese rice crackers or an Okara cookie box.
It certainly has me curious...
A Harijuku Martini with
lychee and a slice of Sansho Pepper Tofu Cheese Cake sound like it would
hit the spot right now!
