Francis Coppola 'Diamond Collection' Chardonnay, Monterey California, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
Golden in colour this California Chardonnay shows plenty of caramel and spice aromas, tropical fruits, honey and vanilla. The palate, as expected, is rounded but fresh - smooth and creamy. The flavours echo the aromas with loads of sweet, ripe tropical fruit, vanilla, candied nuts and spice.

Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Syrah-Shiraz, California, 2009
Readers rated this wine:
Upon re-review, this is still a delicious wine that would make a conversational hostess gift. Drinking now, it is a wine that will satisfy with its lush aromas of spiced blackberry, fruitcake and baking spices, chocolate and cherry cough-drop notes. The palate is smooth and rich and is laden with sweet, ripe fruit and vanilla. Chocolate and warm spice linger across the finish.

I like the Syrah~Shiraz label on this wine, people are often still unaware it is the same grape (like Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris) so it adds a little humour to an otherwise serious looking label. Syrah or Shiraz, this is a good wine - it is purple-ruby in colour with ripe cherry and blackberry aromas, vanilla, sweet brown spice, white pepper and chocolate. The palate offers juicy berries, mocha and more sweet spice flavours. It is a supple wine, is completly engaging and has a smooth finish. ©copyright 2011 Daenna Van Mulligen

Grant Burge 'Nebuchadnezzer' Shiraz Cabernet, Barossa Valley Australia, 2003
Readers rated this wine:
Another powerful Grant Burge name for a powerful wine that I have no doubt its namesake Babylonian ruler would have approved highly of. Ripe, rich fruit--blackberry, currant and raspberry hints, fruitcake spices, coffee, chocolate and minty aromas. Superbly smooth on the palate with bright fruit and acidity, pepper and sweet spices, weighty on the tongue with a silky coffee finish. Very impressive! ©copyright 2007 Daenna Van Mulligen

Grant Burge 'The Holy Trinity' GSM, Barossa Valley Australia, 2002
Readers rated this wine:
Unless you've been hiding out under an old world rock you've likely heard of "The Holy Trinity". You don't need to understand the Trinity's religious significance--"The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit" to enjoy the wine either. At the end of the day it's a great name for a great wine that combines the trinity of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre. Concentrated aromas and flavours--intense berry and dark cherry aromas, coffee, dark floral, spice and mint chocolate. Layered flavours, smooth spiced chocolate, dried fruit and coffee liquer that clings to the palate and lingers seductively on the tongue. 'The Holy Trinity' is made from combined Barossa vines that are 50-110+ years old. 39% Grenache, 36% Shiraz and 25% Mourvedre ©copyright 2007 Daenna Van Mulligen

Grant Burge 'The Holy Trinity', Barossa Valley Australia, 2008
Readers rated this wine:
Fifth generation Barossan, Grant Burge and his family are an integral part of the famous South Australian valley - his ancestors arrived in there in the mid-1800s. The Holy Trinity Vineyard sits on the Barossa Valley floor, at the quiet junction of Holy Trinity Corner and the wine is made from a trio of varieties - Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre. It is warm and rich on the nose - well-integrated notes of chocolate mocha, dark berries, cherry, toffee, exotic spice and a lifting mintiness. The palate follows suit - potent flavours of dark fruit and chocolate are woven with spice and toffee. It has wonderful structure and balance with a long finish trailing hints of white pepper. Superfine, ripe tannins linger, but this wine is drinking very nicely now.
