International Cellars

Giesen Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough New Zealand, 2008
Readers rated this wine:
This crisp, zippy New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc releases obvious grassy and gooseberry aromas with citrus peel, a hint of passionfruit and flinty minerality. Tart fruit and herbal flavours lead the palate followed citrus and gooseberry. Fresh and snappy with a clean finish.
Pair with asparagus and goat cheese crostini or arugula and nettle salads.

Giesen Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough New Zealand, 2010
Readers rated this wine:

Nice value here, for a fresh and light Sauvignon.
It leads with bright guava, gooseberry and citrus with undertones of snap peas, nettles and green beans. The palate follows suit with capsicum, herbs and citrus peel flavours. It's light in body but has an appealing crisp finish.
Pair with summer salads in light herbal dressings, delicate seafood dishes or simple, fresh appetizers.

Glen Carlou 'Grand Classique', Paarl South Africa
Readers rated this wine:

Smoky and savoury with aromas of black plums and blackberry, spice rub and grilled meats, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. The entry is fresh; it offers chocolaty and plummy flavours, toasted spices, leather and savoury undertones. Smooth, well balanced and substantial with dark mocha on the finish.
A wine for grilled foods and dense protein.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Glen Carlou Grand Classique, Paarl South Africa, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
South Africa puts its stamp on this delicious blend of Cabernet and Merlot - expect smoke and grilled meaty tones layered with black cherry and plums, chocolate and dry earth, wild herbs and a hint of hazelnut. The palate is smooth and spicy and concentrated with flavours of mocha and black fruit, underpinned by smoky, savoury notes. It has nice freshness in the mouth with substantial power and a long spicy finish.
