Wine Diva was sorry to see the remnants of the 2003 Blush disappear from Granville Island Brewing at $6.99 a bottle but hey, $9.99 is nothing to scoff at! A bit sweeter than the 2003 with wild berry and candied strawberry aromas, vanilla, spice and sweet buttered corn on the cob. All those aromas come through on the palate with nice sugar preserved lemon on the finish.

Dark, rich aromas of sweet ripe plums, spiced chocolate and earth. In the mouth the Calon Merlot has more sweet, fresh dark fruit, cocoa and tobacco with nice acidity and smooth tannins.
Such an easy drinking wine is made for weeknights or picnics!

Aromatic - vibrant citrus, honey, rosepetals and mandarin peel, apricots and sweet spices. The palate is fresh, mouth-watering, juicy grapefruit and gingery flavours make this wine a great partner to spicy dishes - curried vegetables and fish or sweet and spicy tofu.

This rare, born in BC cross between Marechal Foch and Golden Muscat is produced solely by our own Calona Vineyards in Kelowna. It's always a great summer sipper and pairs well with spiced dishes.
Tropical aromas - musk melon, mango and pomelo citrus with wildflower honey, peaches and rose petals. The aromas are echoed on the palate with crisp acidity a soft texture and subtle musk flavours.
It's an off-dry glass of intrigue.

I drank this pretty pinky-red, lightly sparkling wine out of straws at outdoor highschool parties called "pit parties" (obviously because they were usually held in tastefully decorated gravel pits). I'm too old to apologize now, but when I found out this wine could be had in a 1.5L bottle in LCBO stores for a mere $12.00 I knew I had to revisit my naughty-naive youth.
The scripted text on its classic denim label says "A sassy sparkling blueberry flavoured wine refreshing when cold" and I would not hesitate to agree. The Moody Blue is concord-grapey smelling with hints of candied blueberry and penny candies. The flavours are sweet (although not as sweet as expected) reminiscent of cinnamon hearts and chalky 'sweet nothings' candy.
