Delicato '337' Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi California
Readers rated this wine:
Part of the Delicato Family Vineyards portfolio, this sociable Cabernet is named for the Bordelais 337 Cabernet clone, used to make it.
It leads with molten chocolate and cassis, vanilla and sweet spice atop leather and pencil shavings. It is smooth but not overly plush, the fruit here is fresh and sweet - wild berries, mocha, pipe tobacco and spice flavours round out the palate.
Perfect for grilled red meats, lamb or hearty pastas.

Peter & Peter Pinot Noir, Pfalz Germany, 2009
Readers rated this wine:
Good pinosity.
Typical sour cherry and red currents, rainforest floor and cedar chips, leather and green herbs with fine spice. Light in body with tart red fruit, leather cocoa and spicebox flavours wrapped in an earthy shell. Good acidity here that provide good pairings with fish and runny cheeses or squash ravioli or creamy mushroom pastas.

I review very few German Pinot Noirs (mainly because there are few available in Canada), so I was pleasantly surprised to see this one come across my desk.
Pleasing aromas of raspberries, violets and sweet spice lead to an earthy core of cedar/rainforest floor and carrot tops. The palate is smooth and very light in body - red fruit and cedary flavours dominate. It is fresh and straightforward but has a very clean palate.
Pair with fish, soft/creamy cheeses or mushroom risotto.

Groom Shiraz, Barossa Valley Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Engaging sweet black cherries, roasted coffee beans, decadent mint chocolate wafers and baking spice aromas. The palate is supple and fresh and exactly what you expect in a Barossa Shiraz - chocolate liqueur and sunwarmed berry flavours are highlighted with sweet spice. Impressive weight and intensity, a slight saline quality to the palate and a lengthy finish.
Seems like a good wine to serve at a wedding (if you have the budget).

Roaring Twenties WineCo. Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough New Zealand
Readers rated this wine:
This Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc was sourced and labeled by the folks from Vancouver Urban Winery. It's a fragrant white with juicy gooseberry and passionfruit, grass clippings, sweet herbs and capsicum with citrus and elderflower branch. It tastes like it smells; passionfruit, herbs, lemon rind. The palate is a little leaner than expected but the finish is mouthwatering and zesty.

Township 7 Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
A bright and tangy rendition of this notable variety. The nose offers grass clippings and gooseberry, elderflower and loads of citric notes. The palate falls in line with zesty pomelo citrus flavours layered with gooseberry and lemongrass. The finish is fresh and lively and suited to arparagus fritters, herb quiche, seafood salads and most starters.

Attractive praline, orange peel and butterscotch with pineapple chunks, spice and vanilla atop yeasty, leesy notes. The palate has a creamy texture and tropical fruit flavours wrapped around roasted nuts. Nice freshness, medium plus length and spice flavours cling to the finish.

Mapema Malbec & Tempranillo, Mandoza Argentina
Readers rated this wine:
This interesting blend offers savoury herbs, leather and a mix of black currents and plum with a core of spice and roasted bell pepper. The palate is supple and leads with rich dark fruit melded with bittersweet chocolate and espresso. It is a mouth-filling red with a smooth, medium-length finish.
Pair with grilled meats or meat based pastas.

Lucky Penny White, Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Casella's Lucky Penny White is a blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Grigio. It has a showy nose of melon, pineapple, vanilla caramels, coconut, tangerine peel and honeysuckle. The palate, albeit sweet, isn't over the top. It has a rounded weight and a tangy citrus and spiced finish.
Pair with yellow curries, chili and veggie stir-fries or sushi with plenty of wasabi.

Fort Berens Estate Winery Pinot Noir Rose, Lillooet BC
Readers rated this wine:

Pioneering a new wine region in BC, Fort Berens is located at the base of the Fraser Canyon, near Lillooet.
Their vines are now old enough, that they are able to rely upon making this wine from their estate fruit.
This vintage is a paler cherry blossom pink colour, which I prefer. It's delicate and fragrant with vanilla, rose petals, sweet summer berries and orange blossoms. The palate is tangy and is reminiscent of a bowl of summer fruit spritzed with tangerine oil. Nice job this vintage. There is some backbone here and fine spice and cedar flavours on the finish, but the acidity and lively character will draw you back to your glass again and again.
Pair with a wide range of foods: salmon, a cheese platter, cassoulet, pork, turkey or grilled veggies.

Flip Flop Pinot Grigio, California
Readers rated this wine:
A fun and frivolous style of wine with aromas of pear compote, citrus, honey and floral notes. It has an attractive weight with a slight spritz or vivace to it. Approachable and slightly sweet with caramel, honey citrus peel and spice on the palate.
Recommended pairings: spaghetti carbonara, fish or mushroom risotto
