Bright, lean, unfiltered.
Made primarily from Sangiovese, this wine is unfiltered and aged in large format casks.
The nose is opulent and ripe; vanilla, stewed strawberries, licorice, baking spices, pipe tobacco and chocolaty mocha aromas lead to a slightly confused palate. In the mouth it is lean, a one-80 from the nose; tobacco, tart red fruit and textural chalky tannins best describe it. Good brightness overall, but a short finish leaves me wanting.
