An excellent value weekday dinner wine made from Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah.
Warm cherry and raspberry aromas, lifted dark floral supported by earthy, leathery undertones and a seam of iodine. Polished on the palate, spicy and leathery with wild blueberry flavours. Integrated tannins and bright balanced acidity with a price that says buy two!

The Rigamarole Red label asks..."Why is it such a RIGAMAROLE to find such a great drinking red?"
Answer..."It isn't if you read Wine Diva regularly!"
But I like their tongue-in-cheekiness and quirky labels.
A dusty red colour with spiced aromas and flavours to match-cherry, white pepper, cocoa, earth, rhubarb, lether and a hint of meatiness on the nose. Medium bodied and quite smooth on the palate showing dried cherry and spice and a bit of acidity followed with a dusty finish.

A perfectly pink colour with aromas of sweet candied strawberries, mixed berry, tree fruit and floral notes and candied citrus peel. It is fun, bright and sweetly bubbly, off-dry and easy to drink at a very affordable price!
This year I sampled a 200ml mini bottle with a screwcap. Adorable as it was (I am not sure if this was a special promotion)this size does not seem to be available. Plus, the screwcap was immovable and I had to use a wine crank to break a hole in the lid.
Stick to the 750ml bottle with the plastic cork - at least if you cannot get it out you can saber the bottle...

A playful bubbly that is very easy sipping. Expect plenty of peach pineapple and fruit-cup notes and sweet, zesty citrus. The palate provides refreshing fruit and citrus flavours that border on candied but good acidity saves it from being cloying. Lively bubbles and an affordable price make this a good party option.

The Babich has bold aromatics - popped corn, nettles, gooseberry, snap peas and zippy lemon. Very typical kiwi Sauvignon Blanc aromas and flavours - easy drinking, yet intense and snappy with herbal, mineral and grapefruity flavours the texture has a pleasing roundness, softening the acidity. All in all an impressive wine for fish or crisp salads with vinagrettes.

This always popular white blend features an aromatic melange of: Chardonnay, Optima, Ehrenfelser,Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Riesling. The aromas are an enigmatic array of exotic citrus, honey, minerals and spiced orchard fruits. On the palate the flavours echo the aromas showing honey blossoms, orange citrus, peaches and spice with grapefruit zest. Mouth-watering acidity bright fruit and a lively lingering finish make this a wine to pair with fish, spiced dishes or simply sipping on the patio.

An unoaked Chardonnay with a brilliant yellow-hue and obvious tropical fruit aromas. Fresh pear, melon, lemon, candied toasted nuts and lemon-butter notes. On the palate the Llama is smooth and creamy with spiced pear and vanilla flavours it has a warm mid-palate that softens nicely on the finish.

The "Latitude 50" series from Gray Monk are clean and crisp--easy drinking and affordable. They are also immensly popular. The white blend smells like a fresh orchard fruit-cup with crisp lemon and grapefruit flavours. A great Monday-Wednesday wine perfect for sipping or snacking-your choice!

Straw coloured with luxuriant aromas of white peach, passionfruit, honeysuckle, vanilla and lemons. Juicy on the entry, warm and soft with a suggestion of spice on the mid-palate followed with a warm finish. This Pinot Blanc has a lovely weight and shows good balance between fruit and acidity.

The 2007 Pinot Grigio has delightful peachy glints with aromas of anjou pear, ripe melon, vanilla, honey and sweet spices. Rounded on the palate with creamy, spiced tree fruits, bright acidity and a clean citrusy finish.

A patio party priced (we'll call it ppp) Gewurztraminer with light aromas of fresh grapefruit, orange blossoms and spices. The palate is off-dry but crisp with loads citric flavours and a snappy finish. An easy drinking sipper or pair with salad rolls in a lemongrass curry sauce.

A blend of Riesling, Gewurztraminer and "other Germanic varieties" it has alluring aromas of candied peaches and green apples, honeysuckle and roses, mandarin oranges and pink grapefruit. On the palate it is clean and dry with bright limon and zesty rind flavours.
Spiced Asian foods, sipping or salads!
