Township 7 Merlot~Cabernet Sauvignon, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:
An attractive combination of black cherry and briary berries, plush chocolate, vanilla and sweet spice aromas. You'll have no problem slurping this one back - it is smooth with luscious chocolate, sunwarmed berries and hints of pipe tobacco.
A mouthfilling wine with a sweet spiced finish.
No wonder it's sold out at the winery!

Groom Shiraz, Barossa Valley Australia
Readers rated this wine:
Engaging sweet black cherries, roasted coffee beans, decadent mint chocolate wafers and baking spice aromas. The palate is supple and fresh and exactly what you expect in a Barossa Shiraz - chocolate liqueur and sunwarmed berry flavours are highlighted with sweet spice. Impressive weight and intensity, a slight saline quality to the palate and a lengthy finish.
Seems like a good wine to serve at a wedding (if you have the budget).

Flip Flop Cabernet Sauvignon, California
Readers rated this wine:
A perfect summer party/barbecue red that won't break the bank but will please a crowd. The aromas here are sweet cassis, vanilla, mint and baking spice with just a hint of green bean. The palate is juicy and it offers chocolate, espresso and cassis layered with sweet spice, leather and tobacco.
A wine for steak, portobello burgers, ribs or burgers.

Fetzer 'Sundial' Chardonnay, California
Readers rated this wine:
New look!
The nose exhibits a movie theatre confectionary of aromas - buttered popcorn, lemon curds, sweet spice and roasted sugared nuts. The palate follows suit - butter, cream, caramel and tropical fruit. A straightforward wine that shows some good freshness. Lively but with a creamy edge.
A good value white for corn bread, creamy soups or a grilled chicken ceasar salad.

A solid wine with crowd-pleasing approachability.
Aromas of blueberry, black raspberry, mint-chocolate wafers, spice cake and plush floral undertones. It has a choco-cocoa entry layered with espresso and fine spice. The tannins are ripe, it has balanced acidity and flavours of bittersweet chocolate and mocha on the finish.
A wine for the barbecue or game day.

Tscharke Barossa Gold GSM, Marananga Barossa Valley, Australia
Readers rated this wine:

This Aussie GSM is comprised of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre and it's my favourite of the Barossa Gold line.
Expect a flourish of black raspberries, rose petals, sarsaparilla, damson plum, baking spices, white pepper and roasted mocha notes. The palate is supple with generous fruit; sweetly spiced espresso mocha is layered with pepper and chunky plum cake flavours. A mouth-filling wine with lovely balance.

Tinhorn Creek Oldfield Series '2Bench Red', South Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:

This vintage of the 2Bench Red is made from 45% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot from the Tinhorn Creek Golden Mile bench home vineyard and their Black Sage bench Diamondback vineyard.
It has a lot of pow! Sarsaparilla, leather and baking spices, black cherry, sunwarmed berries and vanilla aromas lead to a generous palate. Expect sweet spice, licorice, mocha and gobs of plush fruit. Very nice balance, a smooth finish and sadly not a bottomless bottle.
Recommended pairings: grilled steaks, robust stews, game dishes or hard cheeses.

Back Yard Vineyards Meritage, Okanagan Valley BC
Readers rated this wine:

Although I'm not sure of the composition, I assume this "Meritage" red contains: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a strong possibility of Cabernet Franc.
Although the Neck of the Woods winery is located in the Fraser Valley, they use fruit from their own vineyards and the South Okanagan.
You cannot fault these folks for their wine prices, especially while most Meritage reds in BC are $30+. Aromas of blackberries, dark chocolate and plums with grapey notes that are layered with vanilla, sweet spices and roasted herbs. It's a solid and approachable wine with smoked plums and dark berries, cedar chips and vanilla, coffee and dried herbs. Nice acidity keeps it bright and the smooth finish trails bittersweet chocolate and spice.

Readers rated this wine:
A very approachable red blend, scented with chocolate covered cherries, raspberry jam and espresso with layers of cola spices. The palate is supple, sweetly delicious with berry pie, coffee cake and clove flavours. Spice and chcolate linger across the finish.
A wine for chili, sweet & spicy ribs, grilled pizza or anything you'd consume while watching the game.
