Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus Riesling, Rheingau Germany, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
Balthasar Ress was one of my favourite visits during a 2008 German wine tour - the wines are consistently delicious too.
The Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus is a mouthful to say and a joy to sip. Expect aromas of slate and green apples, honey, spring blossoms and bright citrus. On the palate it is off-dry but is balanced with lively acidity and tangy lemondrop flavours.
Pair with sushi, spicy Indian dishes or tangy cheeses.

Readers rated this wine:
Consistently delicious Rieslings, Balthasar Ress' Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus is just one offering that can be found in our market.
Expect delicate apricot and apple blossom aromas, lemon drops, honey and slate undertones. The palate is tangy and bright but it has a pleasing creamy roundness - flavours of crisp apple, apricot and honey are balanced with snappy acidity and a long, mouth-watering finish.

Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus Riesling, Rheingau Germany, 2009
Readers rated this wine:

Fantastic aromas of Meyer lemons, lime leaf and grapefruit zest highlighted with apricots, honeysuckle and wet slate. It is juicy and vibrant in the mouth, bright stone fruit and green apple flavours are lashed with citrus. The kiss of sweetness here is balanced by a brisk, tangy finish.
Delicious!

Balthasar Ress Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus Riesling, Rheingau Germany, 2010
Readers rated this wine:

Balthasar Ress' Hattenheimer Schutzenhaus is a wonderfully balanced and mouthwatering wine with great finesse.
Aromas of smoke and slate, lemon drops and wild flowers, apricots in honey and marmalade with earthy, forest floor undertones. The palate is complex - layers of peach, green apples, honey and a bit of mushroom lead to a racy lemony marmalade finish. Wonderful persistence and any residual sweetness is swept up by brisk acidity.
A great wine for holiday dinners - think ham, turkey, stuffing and mashed yams...

Balthasar Ress Rheingau Riesling, Germany, 2004
Readers rated this wine:
Ress is solid (and always yummy) German product. The 2004 orange label Rheingau Riesling is white peaches, lemon zest, citrus blossoms, smoke and flint. Bright, crisp acidity and sweet Meyer lemons on the palate resulting in a bold and refreshing riesling. Luuuverly!
