Cassini Cellars "Mamma Mia" Pinot Grigio, Okanagan Valley, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
The Mamma Mia Pinot Grigio is very different from the Cassini Cellars Pinot Gris which has a good dose of oak. This fragrant white shows plentiful pear and melon aromas, lemon grass and citrus peel. The palate is surprisingly off-dry with a slick texture and flavours of fruit cup, marzipan and mixed sweet herbs and has a slightly zesty finish. A good pairing with spicy Thai dishes.

Cassini Cellars "Maximus", Okanagan Valley BC, 2007
Readers rated this wine:
This is a well-made Meritage blend from BC's new Cassini Cellars in Osoyoos. It's a savoury 59/37/4 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec featuring loads of dark berry and black cherry aromas, leather, vanilla and garrigue notes. The palate is supple with good structure, fine tannins and plenty of acidity and it presents flavours of forest berries and spice. This is a wine to pair with game meats or grilled veg.

Cassini Cellars 'Collector's Series' Cabernet Franc, Okanagan Valley BC, 2009
Readers rated this wine:
Second Review: Wonderfully fragrant with sweet black raspberry, vanilla, baking spices, crushed purple flowers and sarsaparilla. The fruit is dark and dusty with cherry, bittersweet chocolate and fine spice flavours. The tannins are still firm but ripe. It has liqueur-like concentration and long, chocolaty finish. Great focus, delicious wine. Recommended pairings: grilled steaks, pork roast, lamb, braised veal, hearty red pasta sauces, venison in blueberry sauce, mild and strong cheese. ©copyright 2011 Daenna Van Mulligen Wine Diva reviewed - November 26th, 2012
Review: Oct 2010 There were only 85 cases of this potent 2009 Cabernet Franc made. It is quite dark and brooding on the nose - chocolate and black berries, mocha and pipe tobacco, dried herbs and warm spices. There are super-fine powdery tannins across the palate and layers of smoky spices, savoury flavours, black fruit, bittersweet chocolate and espresso. It is a muscular red with firm ripe tannins on the finish. Bravo!
Recommended pairings: BBQ meats, pork tenderloin, game.

Cassini Cellars 'Collector's Series' Malbec, Okanagan Valley BC, 2008
Readers rated this wine:
There may not be a lot of Malbec produced in BC but for the amount there is, you can find some pretty good versions with firm structure and savoury character. The Cassini Collector's Series presents black fruit, loads of peppery aromas and smoked meaty notes with earthy undertones. There is nice complexity in the mouth - bright acidity lifts flavours of black berries, dry roasted herbs, pepper and tobacco. Savoury with mouth-watering acidity makes this a perfect food wine - tomato based meat stews or mushrooms in cream and herb sauces. ©copyright 2011 Daenna Van Mulligen
