This is the first release of the Oldfield Series 2Bench Red blend of 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc - the future blends are set to include Petit Verdot and Malbec as well.
But it is mighty good as is - aromas of sweet black raspberries and cherries with hints of blueberry, tobacco, sweet spices and mocha. The palate is bright, juicy fruit is layered with earth, minerals, bittersweet cocoa and dark coffee. It is smooth and very dry with fine, firm tannins.

This vintage of the 2Bench Red is made from 45% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot from the Tinhorn Creek Golden Mile bench home vineyard and their Black Sage bench Diamondback vineyard.
It has a lot of pow! Sarsaparilla, leather and baking spices, black cherry, sunwarmed berries and vanilla aromas lead to a generous palate. Expect sweet spice, licorice, mocha and gobs of plush fruit. Very nice balance, a smooth finish and sadly not a bottomless bottle.
Recommended pairings: grilled steaks, robust stews, game dishes or hard cheeses.

This vintage of the 2Bench Red from equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc from the Tinhorn Creek Golden Mile bench home vineyard and their Black Sage bench Diamondback vineyard...
Expect aromas of sweet, ripe cherries and black berries, spiced chocolate, leather, cedar and violets with a hint of dried herbs. The palate is smooth and fresh with juicy fruit flavours coupled with brown spices, espresso and chocolate, fine tannins linger.
Wonderful structure and balance.

This third vintage of Tinhorn Creek's 2Bench Rose is another fresh and lively one!
Made from 100% Cabernet Franc (a variety; partner, winemaker and CEO Sandra Oldfield is extremely passionate about) this year's version is a pale cherry blossom pink colour.
It suggests strawberries and cream, spice, wild herbs and a note of candyfloss. Light-bodied and vibrant in the mouth it pops with flavours of strawberry and cranapple. This is a dry style of rose - perfect for food - especially Tinhorn Creek's Miradoro restaurant's Napoletana pizzas or tapas.

Another divinely fragrant 2Bench White vintage from Tinhorn Creek.
This vintage is a blend of 53% Chardonnay, 21% Sauvignon Blanc, 17% Semillon, 6% Viognier and 3% Muscat. It leaps out of the glass with lychee, peach and ginger jam, melon and grapefruit with a whiff of rose scented cold cream. It has a lovely texture and an appealing weight with wonderful concentration. Spicy and juicy and quite potent with a spicy grapefruit peel flavoured finish. Recommended pairings: Asian or Latin flavoured dishes, mild seafood curry, chicken and mango salad or grilled tuna.
