La Puerta Torrontes, Famatina Valley Argentina, 2011
Readers rated this wine:
In the three vintages I've been reviewing this fantastic value Torrontes it has remained wonderfully consistent. Aromas of lime oil and exotic spice, wild honey and stone fruit with fragrant orangeblossom notes. It has a satisfying weight and an oily texture, good balance and acidity. It's a unique and alluring variety and a very complete white. Pair with spicy dishes or oily fish.

Valle de la Puerta Malbec, Famatina Valley Argentina, 2009
Readers rated this wine:
The La Puerta wines all offer good value - like this Malbec which is approachable and everyday-affordable. Appealing aromas of blackberry plum and chocolate and pretty dried floral potpourri notes. The palate is smooth and juicy with plenty of bittersweet cocoa and mocha coffee, spice and a toasted char finish.

Readers rated this wine:
An approachable red, a real crowd-pleaser that offers aromas of sweet blackberry, vanilla, chocolate and hints of crushed purple flowers. The palate is sweet and supple laden with berry and cherry flavours, sweet spice, vanilla and mocha, which trails on a smooth finish. The entire La Puerta line-up offers very good value at a buy-by-the-case price.

Valle de la Puerta Malbec, Famatina Valley Argentina, 2011
Readers rated this wine:
The La Puerta wines all offer very good value and approachability. Plush blackberry and black cherry aromas are layerd with exotic spices such as ginger and cinnamon, crushed dark flowers and rich mocha. The palate is generous - dark fruit and spice flavours lead - it has a slightly chewy texture and dark toasty/charry finish. Pair with meat focused meals or hearty casseroles, pastas or stews.

Valle de la Puerta Shiraz, Famatina Valley Argentina, 2008
Readers rated this wine:
Look for the La Puerta Malbec and Torrontes, both like this Shiraz offer solid, simple value and crowd-pleasing wines. The Shiraz smells of raspberry jam, chocolate, sweet spices and vanilla - a sweet fragrant nose. The palate, belies the nose and comes across as a bit more serious - it is full-bodied with spicebox and mocha espresso flavours that are rounded out by fleshy black fruits. The powdery tannins in this wine will be softened by hard aged cheeses or dense proteins.
