Peller Estates Private Reserve Cabernet Franc, Okanagan BC, 2005-
Readers rated this wine:
Every so often a Cabernet Franc appears "magically" in my glass and renews my faith in this varietal. As a single varietal it has the ability to be green and stemmy which is why it's so often used in blends. But the Peller Reserve is very good. The grapes are picked from a single Similkameen vineyard (a real up-and-coming BC region) and is a lovely combination of juicy and earthy. Red cherry and sweet plum fruit, smoke, leather and a whiff of bacon fat on the nose. On the palate its earthy and meaty with dried fruit, and a rich mocha coffee flavour. Super smooth on the tongue with soft tannins, making it a fantastic wine, with or without an intensely flavoured dish. Drinking well now but if you really feel the need cellar for a couple more years. ©copyright 2006 Daenna Van Mulligen

Peller Estates Private Reserve Chardonnay, Okanagan BC, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
Since Chardonnay is the new Chardonnay I may as well tell you about another solid one! The Peller Reserve is caramel brulee, pineapple and spiced pear with a hint of candied banana tossed in. Light on the oak (but its still there for you who desire it). Smooth and clean on the tongue with creamy citrus, spiced oak and toasted nuts. ©copyright 2007 Daenna Van Mulligen

Peller Estates Private Reserve Merlot, Okanagan Valley BC, 2006
Readers rated this wine:
Showing a bit of burgundy tinge to its colour this Merlot is a sweet and savoury combination of ripe red berries, vanilla and oak spice, chocolate, leather and hints of green beans. It is supple with bright acidity and plenty of red fruit and roasted coffee flavours. It is drinking very well at this age, the tannins softened and balanced. Peller suggests pairing this wine with beef tenderloin or hard aged cheeses. ©copyright 2009 Daenna Van Mulligen
