Lafazanis Selection Red, Greece, 2008
Readers rated this wine:
This great value red is made from an indigenous red grape in Greece called Agiorgitiko. The wine has very pretty aromas of sweet cherries and summer fruits, a potpourri of cedar chips and dark flowers with hints of sweet spices. The wine is light-medium bodied, smooth and fresh with a pleasant palate of berries, cocoa and spice. Serve this red slightly chilled and pair it with fish, roasted tomatoes or hearty salads.

Lafazanis Selection White, Vin de Pays de Peloponnese Greece, 2009
Readers rated this wine:
Aromas of citrus, mineral, tropical notes, apple blossoms, almond oil and mineral undertones. The palate follows suit, nicely weighted with bright acidity offering lemon peel, marzipan and herbal flavours. A simple wine that offers very good value in a larger format bottle.

Made from the indigenous Roditis grape, common in the Peloponnese this white offers very good value. It is bright and juicy - aromas of honey, tropical fruit and plenty of lemony citrus notes. There is an impressive, creamy weight in the mouth that binds flavours of peach, mango and exotic citrus flavours before trailing sweet spice and caramel. I like the let's just drink, not think, simplicity of this wine, it is a good everyday white to sip or pair with fish or light pastas tossed with EVOO, lemon and some chili peppers.
