Absolut Grapevine Vodka, Sweden
Readers rated this wine:
This very fragrant, clear vodka comes in a gorgeous bottle depicting white grapes, dragon fruit and papaya - the natural flavours infused in the product. It's very floral and fuity; the grapey aromas and tropical fruit come through on the palate as well - I got more guava than dragon fruit, (probably becuase I don't get to eat dragon fruit very often) but I also fully enjoyed the aromatic flavours. If you feel the need to step away from the heavier eggnog drinks this winter here is a refeshing option from Absolut. Grapevine Bay Breeze 1.5 parts Grapevine Vodka 2 parts pineapple juice 2 parts cranberry juice Build over ice in a highball glass, and stir. Garnish with fresh pineapple. ©copyright 2012 Daenna Van Mulligen

Absolut Vodka 'ABSOLUT UNIQUE', Sweden
Readers rated this wine:
These limited edition ABSOLUT UNIQUE bottles are one of a kind and each bottle is different, which means they're perfect for gift giving. Splashed with brilliantly coloured graffiti, they'll put a smile on anyone's face. Four million bottles were randomly splashed and sprayed with almost 40 colours. The same Absolut, but with a personal twist... Looks like my super-spicy Bloody Mary's will be sporting some new bling this season. ©copyright 2012 Daenna Van Mulligen

Impressively fresh, this Italian Cabernet Franc will win you over with aromas of sweet young berries, bright herbal notes and hint of cocoa. Expect a wine that is smooth and juicy on the palate with pristine berry fruit and mineral flavours. Alex Gambal Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy France, 2003
Readers rated this wine:
Finding good Pinot Noir from Burgundy for under $35 can be a challenge in BC. A good place to start looking is often at Marquis Wine Cellars because their staff is so knowledgeable and they bring in labels not found in other stores. Gambal is one of the labels that Marquis buys and the wines are intense but well priced. The 2003 Bourgogne is oozing cherry, blueberry and bright raspberry fruit aromas, warm spice, vanilla and woodsy notes. On the palate it still has its youthful vigour with fresh fruit, leather and tobacco-y flavours-quite brawny and chewy with tight tannins. Decant if you must drink now or cellar it for a couple more years. ©copyright 2007 Daenna Van Mulligen

Alois Kracher 3 Trockenbeerenauslese Chardonnay, Austria, 2003
Readers rated this wine:
Golden hued nectar of the gods. Sweet and rich with musky aromas of wild honey, stewed apricots and tea leaves in an earthy aromatic base.
Super sweet in the mouth with flavours of candied mandarin orange peel that sticks to your palate like gum on a shoe on a hot day!
