Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills Oregon, 2005
Sokol Blosser Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills Oregon, 2005
Readers rated this wine:
Sokol Blosser produces wines that I would like to see more people drinking.
The wines are excellent and their commitment to the environment and to sustainability is unquestionable--From their USDA Organic certification and energy gathering solar panels for the winery to their environmentally supportive paper labels and ink. Not to mention, co-founder and president Susan Sokol-Blosser is a pioneer of the Oregon wine industry.
The 2005 Pinot Noir is quite powerful with loads of black cherry aromas, forest floor, violet, cocoa and spice notes. A full-bodied, smooth Pinot with forward cherry and blueberry fruit on the palate, leather and obvious black pepper. Youthful and concentrated--pair with medium-firm cheeses, hearty fish dishes or duck.
