Does this dusty designer bottle trigger a distant memory? Time for a revisit?
La Fiole du Pape is always a blend of three vintages - one older vintage (I believe this one is 1999) and two newer vintages - producing a wine which combines maturity and youthful vigor. It's delicious - showing off it's aromas of sun-warmed berries, garrigue, smoke, leather, spice and tobacco. The flavours echo the aromas - a seductive combination of sweet and savoury with fully integrated tannins.
Pair with meat based casseroles or ratatouille.
